The rules of the road.

Last updated · 29 May 2026Effective · 29 May 2026

KoMee! is free, invite-only, and run by humans. These terms keep it that way.

01Who we are

YUNAN BV, Wijngaard 20, 3110 Rotselaar, Belgium. Contact: hello@komee.io. These terms govern your use of the KoMee! app and the marketing site komee.io. By using either, you agree to them.

02What KoMee! is — and isn't

KoMee! is software that helps people in a closed network coordinate rides with each other. We are not a transport company, a taxi service, a ride-hailing marketplace, or a driver employer. We don't own vehicles, we don't dispatch drivers, we don't take a cut of anything — rides between friends are free, and there is nothing to take a cut of.

Drivers and riders deal with each other directly, off-platform. KoMee! is just the coordination layer.

03Eligibility

You must be at least 18 to create a KoMee! account — KoMee! accounts are for adults. Children can carpool through a parent's account; they don't have their own. If you're driving, you need a valid driving licence and valid insurance for the vehicle you're using. By using the app, you confirm both.

04Your account

One account per person. You can sign in with Sign in with Apple or with your email and a one-time code (OTP). You're responsible for what happens under your account. Don't share it. Don't impersonate someone else. Don't create accounts on behalf of other people.

05Acceptable use

Don't use KoMee! to:

  • Run a commercial taxi or ride-hailing operation.
  • Charge passengers fees, fares, or "fuel money" — through the app or off it. It's a friend network, not a side hustle.
  • Harass, threaten, or discriminate against anyone.
  • Spam invites.
  • Reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the app.
  • Do anything illegal under Belgian or EU law.

Accounts that break these rules can be suspended or terminated.

06Rides, vehicles, insurance

Every ride is between two adults who know each other. The driver is fully responsible for their vehicle, their driving, their compliance with traffic law, and their insurance. KoMee! does not provide vehicle insurance, passenger insurance, or roadside assistance. Riders accept that they're getting in a friend's car under that friend's terms.

07Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, KoMee! and YUNAN BV are not liable for: the conduct of any user, the safety or roadworthiness of any vehicle, route choices, delays, missed connections, lost items, or anything that happens during or as a result of a ride.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes your statutory rights as a consumer under Belgian or EU law — including rights under Book VI of the Belgian Code of Economic Law and EU consumer-protection rules. Those rights apply regardless of what this section says.

08The app is provided 'as is'

KoMee! is free. We work hard on it, but we don't guarantee it'll be available 24/7, bug-free, or compatible with every device. iOS 16+ only. Features may change.

09Intellectual property

The KoMee! name, the "K" mark, the wordmark, the honey accent, the app's design and copy belong to YUNAN BV. You get a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for its intended purpose. Don't copy the brand or the UI.

10Your content

Group names, profile photos, invite messages — you own what you create. By posting it through KoMee! you give us a licence to display it to other members of your group so the app works. We don't use your content to train models, sell ads, or anything like that.

11Termination

You can delete your account any time (Settings → Account → Delete account, or email hello@komee.io). We can suspend or terminate accounts that break these terms or applicable law. On termination, your data is handled per the Privacy Policy.

12Changes to the service or these terms

We'll post the updated terms here with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes get an in-app notice before they take effect. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it; if you don't, delete your account.

13Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Belgian law. Disputes go to the courts of Leuven, Belgium — except where mandatory consumer-protection rules give you the right to bring proceedings in your country of residence.
